Funny phenomenon though, seems like the craze for SD has softened a bit, there's discount for SD instead. So it might be a good choice to go for SD now instead of Subdate. GMT II and explorer II discounts about 10-15% depending on stock. As for whether to go for half gold or not, just listen to your heart. There are fakes for half gold Rolexes too. Watch purists will typically go for the stainless steel ones.

By the way, did the increase affect other brands too? If it did, luckily i bought my stuff before the increase.

that's what I did in 1999 & bought the GMT 1 (discontinued) for $4.5k
GMT 2 was only $300 more @ 4.8k (i preferred the blue/red of GMT1)

Later my friend also wack & got the Black Explorer 2 for $5.3k
he never wear one...just collect...still brand new
today sell sure make $
