Is there any way to clean throttle body without exactly dismantling anything in your car?

Like for example just spray into air intake and it will clean the throttle body automatically when sucked into the engine?

I am assuming it can clean well and is also flammable so will burn together in engine cleanly....got such a solution?

3M has this throttle body cleaner that has a small straw to go deeper into the throttle body. You need 2 person to do it. One to maintain at 2k rpm and the other spraying the content into the TB.

Easier to do that when you go for your servicing. Check with your mechanic

Yes that's the one. I did my sister's car and there're so much soot/carbon at the end. I think it cost about $80++
After the oil change, the car was much smoother and quiter. FC also improved. My sister's car has hit 120k.

I'm waiting to do mine. Should be in Dec. My car is going to hit 75k

thanks for the tip man

is it recommended to do use an engine flush additive before the next actual oil change to ensure all the dirt and soot gets washed out thoroughly?

also where can i purchase that 3M kit?

The technique/method is to keep the rpm above 2k to prevent the car from dying and allow the mixture to go into the whole system. After that, to kill the engine and wait for 30mins. Next to rev the car on and off, not hold for 5 mins and overheat the car. During that time, you will see a lot of smoke/soot.

i agree that taking the whole TB and cleaning is best but too much labour

Why don't you use just remove the rubber hose connected to the TB? Cause its just unscrewing a hose clamp and slide out the rubber hose, then you have access to the TB (the 3M video has shown it as well). Just use carb cleaner or the 3M cleaner kit to spray and wipe the TB. If it looks clean to you, then you don't even have to clean it. At the same time, you can dismantle the MAF sensor and clean it as well.

Nope, not needed and not recommended unless you never change engine oil for 20K. As long as you are doing regular maintenance, you do not need engine flush at all.

Engine flush is also harmful to the engine as it contains rather abrasive chemicals which could remove any protective coating left by the engine oil Eg. ZDDP coating or MoS2 coating etc.... These are extreme pressure anti-friction necessary when you start up your engine from cold to reduce scuffing and wear.

If you feel the need to clean your engine. Just buy a bottle of cheap engine oil (eg. VX, Carlube etc....). Change it and run for 500KM then use back your original engine oil. This will clean your engine.

So when do you reall need to flush? Thats when you neglect to maintain your car and sludge begin to form. Your engine oil becomes thick and part of your engine is coated with grease like sludge. Then you need to flush. You need powerful detergenes to remove these deposits. Soot and carbon particles floating around in your engine oil is NOT sludge.

Hmm i have seen my mechanic doing the TB cleaning but i would advice you to take out and clean cause its very very dirty. Even using cotton buds to clean have to take a longer time to achieve a throughly clean TB. And also to prevent dirt from going into the engine by spraying. Best still can clean the Idle valve actuator also to prevent engine stalling on idle. All for 50 dollars for my hyundai verna.
