Hey all, I'm looking to build up a new setup to replace my old computer. Will only need PC, no need for keyboard speakers . Will be using my old monitor(Samsung P2350 23") for now and intend to upgrade to a 1440p (maybe) in the near future.

Budget of $2k for just RIG. Not including future monitor.

Mainly used only for gaming and downloading/watching videos.
Not really into overclocking.
Just had Myrepublic 1Gbps installed too
Currently playing Diablo3/Dota2. Might be picking up wildstar and basically any games coming up too. So a wide genre of it

My new rig for about $950:
- i5-4670 (probably consider 4770 for future-proofing +$115)
- Asrock Killer Mobo
- 2x4gb G.Skill RAM
- Thermaltake Casing (low-end but okay, less than $70)
- Seasonic 850W Modular PSU (just being kiasu since it's about another $15 from the 750W)

For the remaining cash, you could buy a W7 Pro ($175 or less), and a $800 graphic card: You don't sound like a hardcore FPS player, so a GTX 770 2gb (gigabyte/msi/asus <$600) or 290 (Sapphire Tri-X 4gb ~$620) would be just fine

bro 4770 doesn't means future proofing. I5 and I7 difference are like difference between a F1 formula car and a normal toyota car. They are for different usage not for future proofing. If for only single GPU, 600W enough no need get so ex de... W7 pro is also paying premium for things that common gamers wont use... TS advice you wait for Roy to give you a better build or can consider mine on the right with exception for the RAM and add in a Crucial SSD from Amazon. Oh btw forget to mention can get a 4570 processor instead too if you wnt to save abit mroe money

Is it not recommended at all to go for the second build with no intentions of getting a 2nd 290 soon? Is the motherboard too much of an overkill?
Also what would be a case that looks clean on the outside as I could do without the LEDS and all.Dont really like all those LED when gaming late.

An alternative to NZXT H440 I guess, since I don't think it is in stores yet.might be wrong
