This is the 1st time use Time Machine. Need some advises from gueus here.

I have set up my Macbook 12" to Time Machine back up to my Synology NAS.

In any case, if I need to change the HDD for whatever reason, can the backup data still work if it is to be rsync from the old HDD into the new HDD. Mine is a 2-bay, I did not set up raid, using it more like primary and secondary disk. Majority data are on Disk 1 and I rsync important data to secondary disk, to have a backup copy. I am thinking of doing so for the Time Machine backup data, but does it work this way?

Also, another question here, comparing Time Machine with Crashplan for mac (the client, no subscription), which one is better?
