Time to upgrade from i5 2500

My friend is looking for a mid range PC for office work and occasionally play CS go and has a budget of $800 to spend.

OLD PC - i5 2500 , RAM 8GB and GeForce GTX 260 * Always hang and blue screen.

He has a brand new FSP 550PSU and thought of recycle it for new PC build.


Any good recommendation and appreciate your professional advise.

office work and cs:go only stick to your sandy bridge la. Good enough already. If blue screen problem is due to the GPU change to a cheap second hand $50 gtx 750ti or just use the intel Igpu good can already. Can play cs go can do office work no problem. No need waste money buy simi ryzen 3900x series or intel 9900k for what? Lol. Overkill rig.

Upgrade to Intel i5 9400 and Asus b360 board. But seriously i5 2500 is good enuf. Just change gpu to rx570. Alot available online for ard 100plus.

U should ask your friend what is he using it or what kind of games he is playing. I've seen ppl upgrading to the 2080ti but only playing dota 2 99% of the time.
