Hello all, I'm currently taking class 3 practical driving lessons under a PDI at CDC. My driving test will be coming soon I believe.
Was hoping to get a complete list of tips and advice on the following:
- How to pass driving test
- What should I avoid doing to get demerit points
- What should I avoid doing to get immediate failure
- Can I choose my tester? If yes, who is the most lenient one at CDC?
passed my tp back in 2022 (at bddc). not the most up to date for the current syllabus but also not as old as the laojiaos that hang around here. just gonna share some general info.
1. You cannot exceed 20 demerit points.
2. practice, practice, practice. during lessons, ask for feedback from the instructors to identify your weak points. note down and ensure that you do not repeat the same / common mistakes. Ask for tips and tricks from instructors as they are well experienced in the car youre learning to drive with. for checking blindspot, making it more obvious for the tester so that they cant fault u for it.
3. from my personal experience, most immediate failure usually involves mounting kerb, which happens in the circuit (during parking). only way to circumvent this issue is to practice and dont panic during the test itself.
4. no, u cant choose ur tester. whether anot they are leninet depends on ur luck and gender (running joke, not sure how true) and their mood. if they decide to wake up on the wrong side of the bed then too bad, but most of the testers are professional and reasonable. avoid time slots that are during rush hour so that you will have an easier time on the road to do lane change.
atb for ur driving!
