Would be great if I can get more tips before I fly off to Japan in 3 weeks time.

My hubby and I are planning to use baby carrier all the time. So, no need to lug stroller all round. Also, to feed my 9 month old mainly cereal and fruits as it's more convenient.

I'm staying at an airbnb location for 3 nights so will probably buy some veg and steam for her.

What else should I look out for to buy in Japan? I wish to carry as little things to Japan as possible, of course.

On the contrary, i would strongly recommend a travel stroller instead. Carrying your baby with a carrier would tire yourself as well as the baby. The stroller can also help you to carry his/her stuffs like diapers, milk, food, etc.

Based on our last Tokyo trip (my daughter was about 8months old), you don't need to bring stroller as you can easily buy a cheap and good Aprica or Combi in Tokyo (Akachan or Baby R US). Don't bring any stroller and just chop one and bring it back.

For baby food, you don't have to bring any if you don't mind the bottle/can food. They are available almost in every supermarket.

Many baby stuffs are cheaper than those in Singapore. If you have time, just shop around akachan, baby r us, or department stores.

For diaper wise, moony also very cheap.

Oops, sorry, I was thinking of asking about baby traveling things in general and starting a thread to share one.

Just happened so I am going to Japan.

Let's share what else we can do to make a trip with babies more comfortable.

Cheers!

Hi,

Please remember to buy travel insurance as outpatient costs to see doctor in Japan is quite high.

Bring the standard hand sanitizer and some medicine such as Lactefort for diarrhea etc.

Stroller would be good if planning to buy stuff so can hang or put on it.

I just came back from 10 days new Zealand trip with my 7.5 months baby. Flight was 10 hours.. He behaved rather well surprisingly. Slept most of the time in plane.

As it was a self drive trip, we did not bring a stroller as everything is in the car. We went on short hikes with him either on my arms or shoulder carrier.

Having gone Japan for holiday about 5 times past 3 years. I would strongly recommend you to bring a stroller! Japan is rather stroller friendly place. Your activities may involve quite a lot of walking between places.

Their trains are quite spacious for strollers. Maybe can fold up if you travel during peak hours.

Only thing I can think is your small cramp hotel room will be even worse off if a stroller is inside.

Enjoy your holiday!

Buying things from Amazon is a good idea. I got them to deliver to my hotel on Wednesday.

Yippee, can't wait to receive my new stroller.
