I took the Shinkansen from Tokyo towards Nagano last year 22 Dec, and I didn't see any snow when the train went past Karuizawa station.

Erm even if there isn't snow, I would think it is too cold to cycle comfortably?

I know there is an annual Winter festival in Karuizawa but I have no idea when it starts.

Your day 14 seems quite packed. Odaiba is slightly out of the way compared to other Tokyo sights but unless you are just skimming the surface it should be sufficient. If you're into shopping, it might not be enough. Ladies could spend literally a day at Venus Fort... and maybe half-day for the guys in Gundam mall.

I think I am going to fix this now. Getting a bit tired. Any mistake I make or suggestion for amendment?

Dec 8 (Sun) Arriving from SIN-TPE via Scoot. Buy N’EX+SUICA at 5500 Yen and check in Shin Okubo Hotel Empire. After a late lunch, Buy Kanto Area Pass (8000Yen) from JR Travel Office for tomorrow & buy Odakyu Hakone Freepass for Dec 16 at Shinjuku. Dec 9 (Mon) Go to Kamakura-Enoshima with the Kanto Area Pass. Alight at Ofuna and buy the Kamakura-Enoshima Pass (680Yen) for Enoden & Shonan Monorail commune between Kamakura and Enoshima. Take Enoden towards Enoshima, hop off to temple visits along the way. Return to Ofuna via Shonan Monorail from Enoshima. Aim to catch some Koyo where Kamakura is said to be one of the few places with some late Koyo (Autumn Leaves) possible in early Dec. If still time, we can travel further with the Kanto Area Pass to Atami in Izu. But this could be too tiring and the sky could be dark. KIV.

Just one comment, your itinerary in Tokyo is like way over ambitious every day. You are going to be very tired everyday rushing from place to place. While you can probably touch and go every location, I think you can have a more enjoyable time if you spend more time in each area.

yes, i am aware of the busy schedule. As I am not sure how interesting each places are, so I just list all within the same area. We will drop these places off as we go. But our aim is to do open air sightseeing while there's still sun light. Once the sun is down, it will be all shopping and malls hopping only. It will be very physically draining and we need to really prepare for it.

Meiji Shrine should go first thing in the morning when it's not too crowded. Doubt if shops are opened yet if you head to Shinjuku first. On the other day, Odaiba might be a good place to end your day with dinner at the Decks - chose a restaurant with a view of the bay and bridge. Quite nice compared with Rappongi.

Thanks for the reminder. Yes, I don't intend to go to Roppongi Hill. Since we will be passing by Shinjuku almost daily, maybe there's no need to specifically designate some time for it.

Guys, Finally my Japan vacation came and gone. Was trying to write a simple trip report, but after reading so many excellent reports, I doubt I can ever match up the current high standard. So I will just leave my photos around and I input some comments randomly in the pictures. lazy man trip report. :)

My limited skill in photography and poor writing cannot do justice to the true beauty of Japan. If you have anything to clarify, feel free to contact me.

Tokyo Dec 2013 - a set on Flickr WIP. Will take a while to complete.
