I went Tokyo Skytree and Tower during my last trip

Tokyo tower isnt free, for free view, head to the Government Metropolitan building at Shinjuku

Yes metropolitan towers are foc and offers good view of tokyo. There are 2 towers to go to. About 10 min walk from shinjuku station.

i didn't go up both towers.. went to metropolitan tower for free view
and for your info, near tokyo tower got a nice temple feel very relaxing there..

a less well-known and shorter building is the Bunkyou Civic Center. Next to Tokyo Dome.

Also has a free viewing deck (north facing but can see sky tree) and a restaurant (south facing) on the same floor.
