I use it in cooking, but usually throw it away. Don't really like the fruit. But I love ketchup. Hope that have no price increase.

Tomatoes are actually an unnecessary ingredient. What does it add to curry? Nothing. Fish soup? Nothing. It's only use is for pizza.

Fertilizer crisis finally starting to tickle the wallet? Soon it will reach for the balls and tug hard downwards. This is just the beginning.

Fertilizer crisis x El Nino.

Soon we will be eating dry pita bread and be glad that we can still afford the wheat.

Tom Yum soup with no tomato is kinda sad soup.

HDL tomato soup base is dead with no tomato.

Many authentic curries use tomato as a thickener.

Many "sos chili" formulations use tomato as the base and just add chili to spice it up.

Ntuc is selling at $4/kg yesterday.
Before covid it was less than $2 per kg.
No wonder hawkers r shirking down the portion size of tomatoes for fish soup. Indian curry that uses lots of tomatoes would cost even more ...pasta , sandwiches all using fresh tomatoes. Soon food cost would go up. My family loves and consume lots of tomatoes in a month. Sianzzz

Buy Xinjiang tomato paste from PDD.

Aussie news say their supermarket house brand adulterated with Xinjiang tomato. Label claim Italian.

Yup, only people who cook and actually goes supermkt to buy ingredients will know how much food ingredients has increased sharply.

While those who never think food ingredients falls free from sky and expect hawkers to sell $2 to $2.50 else is chopping people.
