Anyone done a tooth implant before? For molar.

I have a broken molar and the dentist is suggesting this.

What was your personal experience like and what was the final overall cost?

Any long term issues?

My version was like
Visit 1 - Extract the molar.. expected to put in the plug on the same visit but cannot not enough bones

Visit 2 - put bones inside… let it settle down

Visit 3 - Put in the plug… let it set into the gum

Visit 4 - do the tooth impression

Visit 5 - put in the fake tooth into the implant

Worth it. Because that is the best solution. If you clean your teeth properly after that, you will be fine.

Wah, molar implant not cheap leh. My one at Q&M cost me around $3.5k after Medisave. The process okay lah, a bit uncomfortable but not too painful. Now like real tooth, no issues for past 2 years. Just go to a reputable one, don't anyhow find cheap dentist.

i also got one molar tooth in upper left that broke since i was 18 years old,

broke half, did not have money to go dental to fix it, let it rot n continue to broke b chip off as years pass by, almost 10 years later, the gum start to inflammed, the tooth chip off until no more left, only left the leg in the root, so surgical removal n take out.

now is empty there, dentist also suggest tooth implant, but when i hear the price 3k after medisave , i siam far far away

I did one at about $6K+ about 5 years ago.

Advice is if you are keen to do, do it as 'young' as possible instead of procrastinating coz if procrastinate till the stage whereby there is insufficient bone mass = more troublesome and costly.

*mine was a chipped crown from a root canal done about 10 years prior to the implant. That root canal remember cost close to $2K.

There shouldn't be any pain, other than the ant-bite discomfort of the anesthesia injection, if the dental specialist is a good one.

*with modern dental advancement, most if not all dental treatments should be relatively painless. If a dentist causes pain = one is likely in the wrong hands.

**I was so fearful of deep gum cleaning (infection due to receding gum) before I went for it. Was super surprised that the process was relatively painless.

What's the normal timeline? Did you all have any issues with eating while waiting for the section to heal?

Ya... they use premium implant... and it's 8K each...
This is like private dentist charge already. NDC still need to wait for months before can do the procedure right? Then might as well go private.
