Any feedback on Toshiba Chromebook 2?
Does it have a default movie player? Can it play mp4, mkv files?

but there's another option. you can install "chrome os" into an old laptop. it's from neverware called cloudready. you can download the installation files and install yourself.

pretty useful to revive your old equipment.

I'm a big fan of chromebooks and have been using it 90% of the time.

Chromebooks have a default video player. U can also install the VLC app from the Chrome Web store. So far I do not have any issues playing back my mkv and mp4 files.

for feedback, it depends on ur use case. If you can survive most of the time on just the chrome browser only, then its perfect for you. If u die die need to run programs like MS Office, photoshop (and not the alternatives from chrome web store) on a frequent basis, then it might not be too useful for u

I think Chromebooks are worth it for the price. For less than $400 (to avoid tax) you can get a 1080p screen laptop plus more than 7h battery life

1080p video playback is no problem. For chromeos can install vlc from store

How the user experience with galliumos on chromebook? Is the speed comparable with chromeOS?

Do you need to upgrade the SSD? Dun think the built in SSD is large enough to install Windows

Gallium is more stable. Just as fast. Can have longer battery life if u install power manager and manually adjust clock speed.

Mine 2014 version can't upgrade. The 2015 Toshiba Chromebook (and acer 15) can upgrade m2. Even if u buy non upgradable one, just get a usb3 thumbdrive and run windows from there.

U can check product page. It supports 120-240v

Chromebooks use Coreboot for the firmware amirite? I know that the Coreboot firmware for most Chromebooks come with a SeaBIOS payload for legacy BIOS booting if you install your own OS over it after enabling Developer Mode, but has anyone ever managed to get a UEFI payload working over it?
