i jus got a M600. maybe its the OS I cannot get used to it. btw how do I ensure that I my wireless auto connect? Everytime when I on my kaptop,I will need to manual connec to my wireless even though the wireless button has been switched on.

Laptop user group stickies usually start off as usual threads with the continually supported one being 'official' while the similar threads fade away.

There were a few other Dell laptop user threads before this.

It would be better if forumers regularly contribute to the thread and making it a useful source of information.
Nobody would wanna see a stick thread with 2 pages of posts of minimal constructive posts right?

I'm a satisfied M200-P430 user.

Seem we have a number of Toshiba fans here. Need comments on Satellite M200 -E4xxT, P430 & Portege M600 on the following topics :
- Battery run time on normal business application & movie DVD/CD playback
- Durability of the display cover ; told that it is easy to get hair line scratch
- Performance under Windows XP vs Vista

yes no doubt tecra M5 is pretty draining on the batt especially on high performance settings. maybe you can try to adjust the settings lower when u get your new batt.

also laptop batts such as the li-ion ones used by tecra M5 have a limited life span.. theres only so far u can go with it. it'll die out one day after a long period of usage( ie. constant recharging and draining).. just a matter of time...

another way to conserve and lenghten the time span would be to take out the batt once it has been fully charge.. try not to leave it there while running on AC. can be quite damaging to the batt...

lastly it could just be that its a case of misfortunte that you've got a faulty batt. luckily you are still under warranty!

on low performance settings mine can clock abt 2 hrs plus like that..

btw where did u get yours? i got mine from the NUS notebook ownership scheme last year.
