Retrieval of User's Manual

I would like to retrieve the User's Manual for my Satellite Pro. However, I forgot the file name used to do this. Does anyone know the file name. Thanks.

before you guys get a toshiba lappy please re-consider.. I've had a big issue with customer service.

I owned an m70 and i was issued 2 years warranty 1 year international and 1 year local.

Recently my lappy had several issues especially with my screen. Brought it down to TOshiba and they told me that I had to pay for the repairs because I was given a fake local extended warranty. I did purchase the lappy from an authorised dealer and the fact that Toshiba does not want to take responsibility over the issue says alot about their customer service.

Not the mention, their service centre is situated in the most inconvenient place possible (if you don't drive) btw, repairs cost me 700+. I doubt i'll be repairing the lappy..

svc ctr hotline

being using the toshiba satellite m100-1321e since 2007 itshow.

bought it coz i trusted toshiba's quality, didn't bother much on it's service.

well, the laptop itself didn't disappoint me... it's the service centre...

this laptop came bundled with vista basic. i downgraded it to xp prof as my skl (nyp) is not supporting it though.
came accross some drivers issue. called up the technical helpdesk.
this is what they say: As your laptop is bundled with a vista basic, and u changed it to xp, we cannot help you anymore.
then after some month i change to vista basic then upgrade to vista business, they also say cannot help me!!!
i say i am willing to pay for a service fee but they say still cannot help. i just hang up the phone instead.

just one word. good computer freeking poor service!

All machines comes with Vista now. If you downgrade to XP, you'll have to do it yourself because the vendor cannot support you if Microsoft don't ship XP anymore on all notebooks.

I think you need to be fair.

I had the same problem with Toshiba. IN fact, my screen blacked out totally. THey wanted to charge me bout 700plus to replce it. In the end, I took it to SIm Lim Square and got ti fixed for about 200 to 300 bucks. It has been bout 1 year now and no problem with teh screen. MAybe you can consider this option.

can get. just that it does nt works only. then they decline helping >.<

just curious, what do u mean by does not work? in my experience with toshiba's phone helpline, it's really kinda... lousy. like MS, diver u here and there, so-call global technical support where the phoneline quality really bad, maybe it's toll-free thing, plus some alien ascent (i know me listen and speaks singlish, but their's... ang-mo-indi-lish, no offence).

instead, i find getting answers online is much better, provided someone post it of cos.

anyway, can make this a sticky? i believe there is still quite a lot of toshiba users in SG...

M600 Recovery Disc

Hi everyone. I just bought an M600 recently. There's a Recovery Disc creation software in the notebook, and I've some questions about it.

1. What will the Recovery Discs that are created contain?
Just the OS backup files or the OS backup files together with the software that I've installed, and also the files I have in the notebook? Or any other things?

2. What happens if I want to format the computer one day if, say, there's a virus? I heard there's a hidden recovery partition to do so. How do I access it and do the recovery when the need arises? Would it be better to recover using the Recovery DVDs or that hidden partition?

Pardon me for my seeming ignorance, and thanks in advance :D
