track pad working well.. can do zooming by pinching or spreading 2 fingers on the touch pad.. no issues with scrolling/click issues also.

i use mine in 'eco' mode with lower power consumption and a dim screen.. still comfortable viewing in low light environment..

Toshiba Z930 have one of the longest battery life around, 6.3 hours. longer than zenbooks and Acer ultrabooks.

Got mine two weeks ago and have been playing around with it for awhile.

Mine comes with an iCore5 rather than iCore7 since personally I dont think I have any applications that will fully utilize the power of iCore7. Plus the price is lower so got some savings out from my budget... :D

Have tried running on battery with a USB dongle for 3G. Based on my calculation it can last around 5.5 hours using the mobile 3G. Haven't tried using wifi with battery yet.

Basically I am quite please with my purchase although my first choice was Asus UX31A. But ultimately the light weight and full size ports won out since I need my notebook to be fully portable and therefore light weight and with all the full size ports available for presentations.

the placement of ports at the back of z930 and the "twistable" screen shunned me from it during pc show. but otherwise worth the hoot :D

I suppose you cannot have everything for a light weight notebook... some compromise need to be made. Mainly the fully size ports won me over, especially the gigabit ethernet ports... Still need it in an office environment or when I am transferring files... try doing that with larger than 1gb file over wifi and see how fast it can go...

That is why I dont really agree with the form factors on the recent ultrabooks, especially when it comes to port size... look at how Toshiba does it... On the flip side... see what Apple is trying to force its supports to buy?

How much does the cheapest Z930 cost? Am thinking if I should wait and look at NTU offers or just go and get a laptop already.

almost got this model during the last pc show but in the end didn't because local models don't have the kb backlit which I needed. I really like this model except the lid, it's like not stablely built.

Don't need the backlit kb. The lid maybe unstable but I think the weight is a bigger factor for me.

Is it possible to remove all the bloatware? Btw for laptops, if I have a win 7 retail disc, am I able to format and install it? Or are there special laptop versions of windows for laptops?

You Win 7 retail disc will work for all. In fact you can use this disc and use the win 7 license key from your toshiba.

To remove the bloatware, you can just use Add&remove programs in Control Panel, or use windows button (left bottom corner), type: "msconfig", hit return key. There you can choose the services that you will like to start during startup. :)

I have hooted my Z930 as well. But mine is the i5 model with 256GB SSD. Very happy with the unit. Initially was a bit concerned with the quality of the hinge as the demo unit I tried out has a very loose hinge. I suppose being a demo unit has gone through a lot of wear and tear. I asked the Challenger staff how long was the unit on display and was told for more than 3 months. Anyway, me being a careful user, I think my usage wont cause the hinge to be loosened to that situation.

Anyone knows where I can get a decent and cheap 3rd party AC adaptor for the z930? Original costs $80...
