I recently recontracted with StarHub for their 5Gbps plan and replaced my ASUS AC86U with the TP-Link HB710 BE80. However, I’ve noticed the Wi-Fi coverage isn’t as strong, both my mbr and kitchenservice yard are experiencing weak or no signal. Are there any good alternatives or solutions to improve the range?

If the best solution is to replace the router, can recommend one that offers similar or better coverage than the AC86U, and is capable of handling 5Gbps speeds?

WiFi 7 Asus routers can be expensive, especially versions with the 6Ghz band like your HB710. You are also not guaranteed higher coverage than your TP-Link. The best solution is to set up either a wired backhaul mesh or a wireless backhaul mesh. If you have ethernet cable going to any location near your mbr or kitchen yard, then you can set up a wired backhaul. If not go for wireless backhaul. If you post a map of your flat here, some of the members may be able to advise you on where to locate your mesh router.

The cheapest mesh router is another HB710 at $192. It is particularly good at wireless mesh with your original HB710. Otherwise, the cheapest router that will mesh is buying a TP Link BE230 from Carousell for $90. It is WiFi 7, but does not have the 6Ghz band
