They are from TP-Link and looking at the spec I would say to avoid the phones, buy a low end Xiaomi phones better.

Most of them use mediatek soc. So no custom ROMs and such. I am looking for a replacement for my mom OG redmi note which is used for only for basic task like WhatsApp calls taking photos etc. All the xiaomi phone I see on Lazada comes with only 7 day warranty so I abit apprehensive. I see those j series Samsung phones on challenger also have removal battery which is a plus since my mom keep her phone for a long time.

Buy Xiaomi local sets? For example, Mi A2 Lite, A2, Max3 seem to be pretty good depending on the preferences of the old folks.

Lazada official Xiaomi Store

My parents-in-law are in their 70s and they use mobile phone a lot. My mum-in-law is using the Oppo R11s (4GB/64GB model) which I bough her end of last year using my SingTel contract. If not for the contract, most likely I will buy her a Xiaomi.

My father in-law is still using the old Oppo R7 local set (SD615, 2GB/16GB) bought in mid 2015. Actually the R7 type is good enough for them but 16GB is the major problem because of WeChat. Bought 32GB uSD card for them to take photos. But WeChat is using the phone memory. Teached them how to clean the WeChat cache and now they require less support.

the 2 years warranty is misleading. dun cover lcd also the website nv state if lcd is cover. when u try to claim warranty on lcd than they pull stunt and tell u not cover. very misleading.

warranty write up in the box also never state lcd not covered. advertisment still put big big “ 2 years warranty”
