TPG and WiFi-Calling

I was planning of porting my 3 numbers to TPG to lower some of my costs. My block has poor coverage and I currently must use Singtel/Starhub WiFi-Calling over my home-wifi.

Can someone pls confirm whether TPG supports WiFi-Calling for Voice calls on Android and iPhone? thx

iOS don't have TPG carrier profile, so VoWiFi is not available.

Only Big Three have carrier profile, even then only SingTel / StarHub / M1 / MyRepublic (M1) have VoWiFi provisioned. Circles/GOMO/Giga/GRID etc all don't have.

Thx u lohsenglte. Not sure I understand completely. Do you mean that: Android Phone can make Voice calls over Wifi with TPG using VoWiFi but not iPhone?

Not really. It is different from VoLTE.

Using the TPG voice call app is more like a Whatsapp call, just that on your end, it is using internet connection, whether be it wifi or even a non-TPG sim card that has internet connection. And it is able to connect to the telephone numbers of those u call, be it mobile or residential landline.

VoLTE means while in a call, the signal will not degrade to 3G. It will continue at 4G and you can surf the net at 4G while in the call.

If you do not have VoLTE, during a call, the internet speed will drop to 3G and it becomes almost impossible to surf the net during the call.

VoLTE is literally Voice over LTE. LTE-based network is 4G, what you mean by drop to 3G??

Also, VoLTE and/or TPG 4G Voice app is mandatory for voice calling on TPG. Without both, there's no way you can call out. There's no CSFB or SRVCC support, since there's no 3G/GSM spectrum that TPG owns.

Using TPG 4G Voice app is not native VoWiFi or VoLTE. It is using the internet for voice calling, like those VoIP solutions (WhatsApp call, Telegram call etc). Don't require you to have TPG signal, as long as you're verified user you can make and/or receive calls on any WiFi or cellular network (including non-TPG data).

Just that TPG 4G Voice will kick users out frequently as a form of security and require you to login via SMS.

I dunno cos I dun use TPG for calling. I am/was just a trial user.

IMHO.
Mobile connected to WIFI using TPG 4G Voice App on Android.
Tested with landline.
Able to call out and receive call.
Estimated delay between 0.5-0.9 secs - acceptable.
Voice quality - good.

Thank u! I use Singtel Wifi-Calling now and there's some lag, not very high but a little bit. The voice quality is not great :-(

Hope maybe TPG Voice app same or better!
