Looking for recommendation for budget Xiaomi for use with TPG LTE.

Try to see if you can find Redmi 6, should be able to find one at your budget of $150, physically smaller size with display size of 5.45-inches.

Only "export" model with Global Rom avalilable at ~$148.
Compatible with TPG LTE VOLte?

How about 6A that you are using. Can make calls with TPG Sim?

VoLTE works with the 6A, so shouldn’t be an issue on 6. Are you a very light user? Casual browsing, WhatsApp and calls, etc? If yes, then 6A is sufficient, anything more you need to go for the 6.

Yes. Light user. Not into videos etc.
Will look into 6A, though read on tpg HWZforum, someone with 6A cant make calls. I suppose need to manually configure.
My 4x is listed here: https://www.docdroid.net/287y8gi/tpg-volte-manual-setup-for-xiaomi.pdf, as working, but i cant make calls. No Volte on status bar even tough activated in setting.

Then 6A is a good enough choice. Look out for Lazada Mi Certified Store for deals on Redmi 6A, gotten my 6A 32GB @ $99 a month or so back from them. Another is to keep a look out at Mi Authorised Stores/Zones for their promotion on Redmi 6A.

Not to worry, after following the steps from Google to do a overtime setup to enable VoLTE on TPG, phone calls work well on the 6A. My 6A is a spare to put in the TPG SIM card to use.

There’s a sale on Lazada on 12th, see if there’s lower price then.

Export set has 2 issues. One is seller warranty, how long they offer it. Two is the ROM the unit comes with, normally they come with Chinese ROM instead of Global ROM. Chinese ROM is still usable, just that you need to sideload Google services to use.

Still wondering why i cant get volte to work in Redmi 4X as stated working in the above doc. I followed all instruction, but i dont see IMS service tab.
