Does roaming cover calls and SMS?

Voice Calls
To make and receive calls via VoLTE, here are the following requirements:
  • Must have supported handsets
  • Must be on supported operators

But on the supported operator list, there is only a few marked VoLTE

https://support.simba.sg/hc/en-us/article_attachments/6081597779481/Operator_list_26042022.pdf

Does it mean say for Australia, I am not able to make/receive calls on my TPG line?
I use TPG 4G Voice App when i roam in malaysia for calls. SMS didn’t try. Their plan free DATA roaming so don’t think call work without TPG 4G Voice App. Anyone can double confirm what I experienced is correct?

I'm pretty sure I rmb using MY CELCOM and SmartFren and make native VoLTE call back to SG.

Outgoing SMS is barred for any roaming carrier. Only incoming SMS is allowed on any of the roaming carriers.

Depending on your phone for the configuration part. VoLTE is supported on the network end, but if the handset doesn't allow for whatever reason, you must make call through TPG 4G Voice app.

Additional note: Celcom GSM (2G) doesn't support native voice call. It must be Celcom LTE (4G) with VoLTE enabled then you can make call through Native voice call.

But in native dialer, don't even need +65. Just call like you normally do in Singapore.

I have a TPG plan and was in Australia a couple of weeks ago. I downloaded the TPG voice app but didn't use it! I just made calls when I had to (only a couple of times) via WhatsApp and otherwise messaged people, read and sent my emails, etc. Between hotel wi-fi and the free 1GB of roaming data, I ended up paying 44 cents (!) for going a bit over the 1GB free limit (TPG charges 4 cents for each 10MB over the free 1GB). I've only been a customer 2 months but so far TPG, at $10 (+ 44 cents!) last month, costs a small fraction of what I was paying before.

IMHO.
I am just checking ( not for me ) for overseas, does it work as 2nd SIM or have to be 1st SIM ?
1st SIM will be occupied by SIngtel with AutoRoam but should be no data.

I went Malaysia JB yesterday, turn on roaming, data ok, but not call. I didn't add +65 but just call directly from phone book stored. Does it matter? When call, no dial tone, few second turn off.

VoLte is enable, roaming enable. Network was connected to Celcom4G

I am wondering how to make it work. Anyone can shown light?

Who do you want to call ? Add 65 prefix if you want to call back SG.

While roaming, as long as your phone supports VoLTE and the roaming network/Telco supports it. You can make calls without using the Voice App.
Free to call SG numbers.

Else is just download the Voice App.
I am using Redmi note 9s, it is supported VoLte and WifiCall.
I have no issue making call locally without TPG Voice App. But failed during visit in JB. Whereas wifi roaming is perfectly ok. perhaps, I have to try it out for a roaming call again with a prefix of 65 while next visit.
