Did you visit JR Mojiko Station when you were there? It's just re-opened after big renovation and is now super-retro (1914) style. I've been meaning to go but haven't had a chance yet.
Unfortunately no. I think I read something about it but it kind of slipped of the list during planning.

Loved the retro style of the station and the seniors outside the station doing banana auction... the area used to be famous as banana gateway into Japan. Was at mojiko many moons ago … I thought the station building was black color?
Had my first fugu there
You need to use photo sharing sites like imgur, Flickr etc & share the links here.
Yes, we had fugu there too (at Karato market) as sashimi and in soup. Most of the fugu there is very affordable, different type to the crazy expensive stuff you get in specialist fugu restaurant. Interestingly, the vendor told us the really expensive stuff is mostly farmed these days but the cheap one there usually wild-caught.

I haven't checked (we don't live in a big city, thankfully) but you can probably get it at one of the upscale department stores in Fukuoka like Hankyu, Mitsukoshi etc. Unlikely to find it in the everyday supermarket.
