TRA and HSR question

For online booking at TRA and HSR web site, do i need to pay in advance using credit card?
I see some of the ticket for HSR have discount at online booking.
Does walk in have discount also?
My flight will reach Taipei at 1.15pm, i will go straight to taichung.

So what time should i buy if i wanna to book in advance?
If i miss the my train, can i use the same ticket for the next available train?
Take direct TRA train at airport to taichung will be better right?

save all that.. and just take a bus to taichung...

if not.. u will have to take the U bus to hsr then to taichung.
2hrs in advance would be safe.
if u have gotten discounted prices then if u miss the train. u will have the pay the full fare on the next train.
only online booking has discount.

yup, gotta pay within 2 days using cc for HSR. TRA also.

walk-in no discount. so ppl will check and book online even <1 day prior to departure. but the closer the date, the smaller the discount, if there still is any.

other than topping up the full fare, i think the webbie said something like gotta pay (small) admin fee as well if train has departed.

if you buying the data sim card as well, need to factor in more time in case got long queue.

u705 bus frequently very fast, 3min will come once ....
fare is 30ntd one way
takes abt 15-20min to reach taoyuan hsr .

TRA only discount if booked round trip..

Single sector ticket standard pricing..Round trip is 10% discount..

Max discount for HSR is 35%(28 days in advance) and yes for both you need to pay online beforehand to secure the tickets..

UBus is 1 hour interval as compared to Free Go Bus 2 hours interval.

半票票價 is for children and elderly.

可購買半票資格：
1.年滿65歲以上，且持有身份證明之年長者(不論國籍)。
2.持有身心障礙手冊者，及其陪同者得購買半票(以一位為限)。
3.兒童規定說明:
(1).年齡滿6歲以上，未滿12歲之兒童。
(2).身高滿115公分且未滿6歲者經出示證件可視為免票；若滿6歲則應購買半票。
(3).身高滿150公分且未滿12歲者經出示證件可購買半票；若滿12歲則應購買全票。
(4).免費孩童由已購票者之旅客攜帶，最多以二人為限，但不得佔用其他座位，逾限仍應購買半票。
