Train Delay in Winter

Read online, sometimes when there are train delays, the reserved cabins owill be turned into unreserved to squeeze in more people.

Anyone experienced this before?
What to do if you already have a reserved ticket, but your seat is taken as unreserved?

I have encountered 1hr delay at Sapporo before. My seat was still reserved when I boarded.

I kena before. My train was delayed. next train was rapid but didnt need to pay extra rapid fee
