You are not going to Olkhon Island? The info I've given for Baikal is to Olkhon Island. For your case, then perhaps 2 days is good for Irkutsk and Baikal.

Most people take the mini bus from Irkutsk to Olkhon and accommodation is usually arranged/included.

Check baikaler.com

Yes I am also heading to Olkhon Island.

Sadly, I found out that the lake will not be frozen in December

The package seems really good. I need to check if they could take a solo traveller as min head count is 2 from their website.

Lake Baikal is gorgeous when it's not frozen.

Hi guys. I am going to embark on a 15 solo days Trans-Siberian trip this December.

Rough itinerary as follows:

Sample itinerary assuming the trains operate on the day.
Day 1 to 3 - Moscow
Day 4 - Train 118Е departs Moscow at 1.10pm
Day 5 - Arrives Yekaterinburg next day at 6.02pm
Day 6 - Yekaterinburg

Flights from Yekaterinburg to Irkutsk is not daily.
One flight arrives Irkutsk at 11.20pm while the other flights arrive at around 3.30am.

Day 6 - Departs Yekaterinburg at around 8.30pm Ural Airlines 315
Day 7 - Arrives Irkutsk at 3.30am [http://www.baikalex.com/travel/winterolkhon.html]
Day 7 - Baikal / Lake Baikal will likely be frozen
Day 8 - To Olkhon island
Day 9 - Olkhon to Irkutsk [6pm]
Day 10 - Irkutsk
Day 11 - Departs Irkutsk on train 362Ы at 9pm MOSCOW TIME / Irkutsk time 2am
Day 12 - On the train
Day 13 - Arrives UB at 5.45am
Day 14- UB
Day 15 - UB to Bejing on Air China 902
Day 15 - Arrives Beijing at 1:55pm
Day 15 - Beijing back to SG

Feel free to comment :)

Day 8 and 9 not doable
You need MINIMUM 3 days for Olkhon if you are taking the package from the hostel. Day 1 arrival in Olkhon, they wont bring you anywhere as it's almost evening when you get in. Minibus leaves in the morning, just after breakfast from Olkhon to Irkutsk. That means you don't have the one day to explore Olkhon Island.

Well, his Day 7 is arrival in Irkutsk at 3.30am. Assuming everything is arranged swee swee (so not staying in Irkutsk), that morning itself will go Olkhon. So Day 8 is on Olkhon island itself.

- For Baikal, I will be basing in Listvyanka. Any recommendations for accom over there? Will 2 days be too long for Baikal?
