Using transcend SSD and thumb drive, no problem for me. Don't forget popular parts like motherboards and gpus
are taiwanese brand.

Donkey engineers that 2014 period they overlooked some issues.

I forget which pin, but if your display port has an extra pin, it will causes power interference. Those intel ssd will refuse to boot up, they keep blaming it's bad cable ( to be fair to some extend yes) but others with samsung ssd has no issue, swapped to a even older ssd no issue either. Or just use the making tape to mark the extra pin hack lel....

I don't recommend that you look at a specific brand. Each brand typically specialises in a limited range of products, even though they offer a lot of products. For example, Gigabyte is mostly known for their motherboards, but look at the poor quality PSUs they sell. Intel SSDs in the past are build like a tank because of the price people pay. I paid 700+ for an Intel G2 160GB a decade back (and still working now with 98% health), versus you can find 200+ for a high end 1TB SSD now. While technology have improved drastically over the years, you cannot deny some corners will be cut to keep the cost down.
