It is just launched and looks very cheap.
I wonder if it will be any good.
I just want to use it in my ps4.

The 256Gb SSD340 was selling at $169 (Cheapest). Now selling at $199.
Am running the SSD320 256Gb model. So far ok. Not the fastest SSD around ...

It's using a Jmicron 667H.

From the benchmark charts, seems to be about on par/ slightly below the current crop of SSDs, not enough to be noticeable IMO.

But the write performance is not up to standard.

For a good price, it looks very good. If it were really $169, it is fantastic value

I would say just go for the cheapest ssd you can find. PS4 uses a sata 2 interface which means that even the transend 340 will saturate its bandwidth.

Bought it during the $169 time sale... Is around 176 with shipping...
Using it on my laptop... Any SSD, including this, is faster than my previous HDD, so no complains... Think this is not a fast SSD, but truth is, I don't think I can tell the diff in real world. So is good value for me :)

since you just need to use on your ps4, find the cheapest SSD in the market with
SATA2 not Transcend 340 which is SATA3, a bit waste~

Hi guys,

Similar to the OP, I wonder whether to take advantage of the 179$ offer or should I just go with the Samsung 840 EVO 128 GB. If the real world differences are just 1-2 seconds, I'll take the Transcend. What do you guys think?

You have to decide if that 1-2 seconds is important enough for you to spend $40 -$50 more... Is it even enough time to scratch your b**** :)

Haahhahaha. Indeed. But i'm wondering will the difference be 1-2 seconds, or will it be more? Plus, I'm also concerned about reliability issues. Especially for a PC gaming rig.

I can't comment. All I can say is that the boot time is great for me. I don't have any issues. If you are upgrading from a HDD, I am sure you will be happy with it.

Ah, many thanks Twinsen. And yes, I am upgrading from a HDD. So your experience is definitely a push factor to go ahead and purchase the thing.

Can this be used in a macbookpro?
Mine is 4 years old and crawling like a dying dog. Should I bother trying to revive it with this SSD?
