transfer contract to someone else

hi, i'm on a starhub 3G smartsurf 300 plan, and am wondering if it is possible to transfer the remaining time of my contract (~9 months) to someone else?

If so, does anyone know if there are any costs involved, and do i need to also transfer the number over?

I called customer service today and spoke to 2 different people, but end up both weren't too sure of the details...i will go with this since i dont expect it to be too costly for a simple task like that
