Thanks. pardon my ignorance, I just googled and it seems like from DBS saving account to UOB Fixed account via FAST, both under same name, there is no such facility except for saving, current or credit card?
you add payee in DBS ibanking/app by specifying bank as United overseas bank ltd and your bank account no. as the reference number. No need to care which type of bank account.

Borrow this thread to ask coming Sep 2022 if no OS update the dbs, posb ibanking mobile app cannot use. I would like to know then using the phone mobile browser can correct? I just try but they will ask for the mobile app authentication when popup screen for you to approve.

My question is say Sep 2022 come I use mobile browser then the ibanking mobile app popup screen for approve will still work correct? Just that I no longer can login via the dbs, posb ibanking mobile app

wait about 1 min and it'll change to SMS OTP authentication. first min will default be app authentication.

Thanks any way to change to SMS authentication as default? This forcing ppl to change phone is too drastic. Some phone no more OS updates already

It was dbs app authentication for a good long while when they decided to move, until somewhere last year they somehow allowed SMS otp only if the app authentication wasn't clicked for 1 min or so. Not a function to click to opt SMS as default

I found another way from mobile browser after click Authenticate click Enter OTP manually and then from the mobile ibanking app click Digital Token,Generate One-time PIN. But if the mobile ibanking app is totally cannot even launch then this also don't work.

I am now moving all my fast and paynow payee over to other bank which does not have this super strict requirements. Force ppl to change phone is so drastic.

I forsee coming Sep 2022 sure got ppl complain the minimum OS they want is quite high

I got bills to pay so phone can use use lor. If other bank mobile app can use this version I don't see why posb,DBS so special. Mine version is Android 8.1 considered very old? Still thought 5-6 below then old even 8 to posb,DBS say old.

Nevermind I use posb,DBS for salary credit and ATM. Make me fedup change banks lor. Still got OCBC,UOB with ATM around

other banks will eventually also say u need new OS version. it is inevitable one. DBS just decided to move forward earlier lor.

am i right to say their new app need android version newer than 8.1 and your phone cannot upgrade anymore?

Yes lor. I wait for all banks to say must upgrade first. DBS want to spearhead ok lor. Usually to obsolete OS need some common sense give ppl time 10 years old I understand 5 years also old next time only support most latest and one version back then more ppl need change phone.

I am software developer by profession so supported version we try to make it wide not to antagonize users. But DBS big F lor

they never say obsolete it ma. they just say it does not fulfil their requirements. but your phone can still work with other apps.

DBS IT all that country one so talk big lor. Other banks haven't say they want make minimum OS DBS say want to go first ok lor. Still haven't explain that big issue last year cannot login for 3 days?
i'm not a software engineer or cybersecurity expert but i do know some reason for banks to support certain OS onwardsa is due to cyber security issues that perhaps an older OS is vulnerable hence they cannot support that OS; or the effort + $ involved to just go that extra effort just doesn't justify the cost to effect use. this happens to alot of my work projects that gets pushed out of the queue because of cost/effort and prioritise other projects. same goes for our work laptop is constantly being remotely pushed updates (whether you're in office or home) and forced to update every other few days and nobody is on Window 7 since 2021 when they mass migrate everyone.

another relative reason. the first qn was to ask the phone maker why they stop updating your phone (instead of the qn why DBS stop supporting certain OS onwards) and you need to understand why from their perspective. phone makers usually support updates to their phones up to a certain OS and they decide that it's no longer viable to continue support for a certain model because the hardware and the brains inside the phone is no longer capable to provide the best phone experience (phone lags more as more software updates) as newer software are more processing intensive.
