Transferring contacts from android to iOS

Using Note 3 now & planning to switch to iPhone 6+. Am using an iMac if that helps.

What is the easiest & safest way to transfer my contacts from Note 3 to iPhone 6+?

And what abt whatsapp messages? Is it possible to copy a backed up of whatsapp msg from android to iOS or must be same OS?

jus use carddav on iOS to import all yr google contacts. whatsapp support backup to cloud on iOS but not sure if it is available on android. if available on android not sure whether that backup can be restored across different ecosystems.

Thanks. If I can't transfer my whatspp back up then will I at least still be in the whatsapp chat groups or do ppl need to re-add me?

U will still be in the chat groups but without chat history.

Upload contact to gmail then download it into iPhone.

Since you're already using gmail, you just sign in to your gmail account with your iphone under settings. select the mail, contacts, calendar and enable contacts.

no need to import or d/l any app.

but not too sure about whatsapp history.
