To be fair, SAF also CMI. At BMT level, RECs are not trained in using map. At their vocational training, they will only learn if their vocations like combatant or commander required map reading. So you have Army NSFs to MR Personnels who do not even know how to read a map, so SMJL is Army when Boy Scout are trained in map reading?
