I’m now in Guangzhou. I recommend you stay at either Juanguo Hotel 广州建国酒店 or Ji Hotel 全季酒店 at Guangzhou East Train/MRT Station 广州东站.

Both hotels are next to each other and opposite the train station.

I’m staying in the Jiangyo Hotel. I found it clean and comfortable except that the bed is too soft for my back. The room is spacious and the aircon is solid. My room has a bathtub, rain shower as well as a handheld shower. The water stream is quite powerful.

I picked this mainly for convenience for travelling. The train station is huge and has hundreds of retail outlets: food, supermarket, jewellery, clothes etc. There’s Starbucks, McDonald’s, Uniqlo, BreadTalk, Manning, and lots and lots of eateries.

You can travel conveniently to other places via the MRT here. And for me, I’m going to Foshan 佛山, Hong Kong 香港, Hunan 湖南 during this trip and the high speed rail 高铁 is also in the same station.

Have you checked what places you want to go ink Shenzhen. From there you can determine how much time is needed.

If u just want to let others know or rush thru a day, take a few photos n make yourself believe u been to SZ then 1 day is good for u. :D

Frankly, u will need days to actually visit a city.

Very true. Went day trip there pre-covida few times, very tiring. Later trip stayed overnight. Shenzhen hotel is cheaper than HK and rooms after bigger

Both are great hotels, depends on what your plans are.
Hilton is right beside 广州东站, so if you are taking HSR/MRT, more convenient IIRC.

Both are just as good. Hilton is next to the major train station which has services to HK, if this is useful to you. Beijing Road is great for food and shopping. There is direct MRT service between Foshan and Guangzhou South station.

Beijing Road is crowded even on weekdays. Lots of domestic tourists.
