Hi all, I'm planning to travel to Japan at the end of the year. I am planning to get the Nikon P530 for capturing scenery and some street photography. Anyone has any opinion on this camera or recommendations ? My budget is less than $500.

IT SHOW is coming , they may have some promotion, you can go and see which one you like. I bought my CANON from IT SHOW

y did u choose the P530? Because of the 42X Zoom?
From the tech spec, the 42X zoom is has the FF equivalent of 24-1000mm.

I personally will rarely go more than 150mm (FF equivalent).
y dun u consider the Sony RX100? It is smaller, have very fast auto focus and the larger 1" sensor will make low light photography a little easier.

RX100-M4 is quite ex. Think u might be able to get a good price of RX100-M1 or M2

I wanted something with a good grip in that price range. Since I'm still not good with photography yet, I wasn't ready to spend on a dslr.

1st ask yourself if you just want a point and shoot (PNS) or have 1 where u can do manual adjustments and from there u can narrow your choices. You can go to camera review websites to read up and help make your decision.

After you have made your choice, quickly get it and start practising with your new camera. Otherwise, your holiday trip will be spent figuring out how to operate and make the most out of your new camera.

And don't skimp on your memory card/spare battery.
