Hi guys,

can anyone recommend me a travel bag or pouch that can be hidden under clothing. Gonna use it for travelling to dangerous places.

Thanks

I suppose you're referring to a money belt. I'm using the pacsafe rfidsafe 100 currently. The material used for the elastic belt is soft and comfortable. It's stays comfortable even after many hours of hiking.

I think Planet Traveller carries a few brands for you to choose from.

The most important thing to note is that no one should know you're wearing it. If you need to take something out of it, go somewhere private where no one can see you i.e. toilet cubicle. It's pointless to wear one if everyone knows you have something valuable under your clothes.

Money belts are useful, but they do suffer from some huge flaws:

1. They need to be removed each night when you return to your hotel.
2. They are cumbersome should you need to take a dump in the toilet.
3. If they are too loose and yet contain heavy stuff like your passport, they may still be fine when you first put them on. But when you need to run for your bus or train, they start to slide down your waist and hips and you risk them sliding beyond your hips, which will be embarrassing and also interfere with your run.

I've encountered all these when I started using a money belt, so I now switch to a pouch that attaches to my belt. You can buy them off the shelf, or simply buy buy a "neck security pouch" and shorten the string. I replaced the string with a short elastic cord.

The advantages are that they are securely attached to your pants, so even if you remove your pants in your hotel room, you don't have to remove the pouch as they are securely attached to your pants. They never slide down your hips, and as long as you don't lose your pants, you won't lose the pouch. The only disadvantage is that you need to wear a belt, or at least have a belt loop to attach the pouch.

I've also tried those pouches that attach to your leg/ankles, but those also don't work as well.

believe what butterbarter is talking about is this, Undercover™ Hidden Pocket

i kind of like the money belt but its pretty expensive but after using repeatedly, i believe its gonna be worth it.
Money Belt

the brand isn't that important if it does what needs to be done.

Yes, my belt pouch is similar but of a different brand.

As for the money-belt, I have one too, from Tatonka. I bought it from the Outdoor shop in Novena Square. I use it because its all plastic construction does not set off the metal detector at the airports, but I never use the money-concealment capability since I already keep my spare cash in my belt pouch.
