Travelling in Pattaya

Hi Guys,

Will be heading to pattaya in the early Jan. Just wanna check if anyone out there has done car rental for a day in pattaya?

For those who didnt rent a car, how did you all get by travelling in Pattaya? There are many places i would love to visit, but I am currently unsure on the transportation services there.

you can book your own driver
tripadvisor have few recommended drivers .
one way airport transfer is 600 to 800b ... 1.5 hrs from pattaya airport to junceylon mall

Thanks for your reply. I will be travelling to pattaya from BKK airport using the bell travel services. Will reach pattaya at around 6-7pm. Was wondering if i will be able to book a driver directly there at a reasonable price to ask the driver to bring us to places like SOT, big buddha and some view points?

Main idea is just a day trip in pattaya for the following day so was wondering hows the transportation like in Pattaya. Heard about the baht bus but im unsure if they will travel to these places directly for tourists like us.

You have to decide urself, as I have not tried their service before.
Based on previous few reviews, some very good, some very bad.
Bad ones included, bus have bad smell, old bus, cockroaches inside bus, driver rude, credit card fraud.

for myself, i book my driver. no need share bus with others.
pattaya have cabs, not as much as in bangkok.
perhaps would say if bkk have 10 cab, pattaya would have about 2 .
people mostly hop on to the pick up lorry, like the 70s .
you just waive ur hands out, the driver would stop ask u where u wanna go
if he is on the way there, he would ask u hop on, you just pay him.
about 10+ ppl would be sitted at the back of the pick up lorry.

Seen many baht bus going around in Pattaya during my 3 day stay at there, and there are also many Chinese tourists from China at there too taking the baht bus

Yes you are able to book a taxi driver there to bring you around Pattaya POIs. There are plenty of road side booth where you can ask for the price, tell them what places you wanna go, nego and fix a pick up time. The driver is just there to bring you, not a tour guide. I booked before from morning to late noon, been to many places at one price.

If you want a more personal driver, you got to go TA for recommendations.
