Hi, is trip.com reliable to get the air ticket? I am trying to get a flight from SG to Warsaw, Poland.
After some research, Emirates offer aound 1700sgd while trip.com 1400sgd.
Anyone tried to purchase trip.com online flights, please share some tips and expereinces

Used once or twice, no issues but took a risk as there are scare stories from other users. Shouldn’t be as much of a risk if it’s full fledged airlines I think.

trip.com is one of the biggest online travel portals out there. Of course it is not as assuring as buying the ticket from the airline outright, but 90% of the time, there is no issue. Sometimes I get deals cheaper than the airline itself and there are some membership points. Compare like for like, eg, does it come with identical baggage allowance, etc? Any costs for changes?

Better buy direct from the airlines. If the flight got delay and something cock up. They will help you better. If you buy from 3rd party, you are on your own.

bought air tickets via them several times, no problem. tickets r issued 2 days later and can manage the bookings from the airline website.

I am looking at a flight from Sg to Warsaw.
Trip.com offers better rate at $1400+ which include SQ and SWISS airlines, Sg->Franfurt(SQ)
Franfurt-> Warsaw(SWISS).

If I purchased directly from SQ, the flight will be $2200 which is about $800 different.

LOT, polish national airline is hopeless, have tried numerous times, keep prompting error message, even tried on latest September date, still unable to get a flight quotation.
Apple Store LOT app reviews is even worst only1 star and full with complaints.
LOT is incorrigible.

I have this concern also.
Once, I read someone complained and feedback here, saying the airline company will not deal with any flight changes or delay.

I just tried on the AIRASIA website which I found that they have flight from SG to Warsaw. But, not their own carriers, it’s Turkish, Emirates and many more airlines.
Wondering how reliable of AIRASIA to provide other airlines services??

Flight delays and cock ups by the airline, the airline has to be responsible. Third parties can never be responsible. What can the 3rd parties do?

Your own delays and cock ups, you yourself be responsible. Anyone else won't be responsible.

Doesn't matter if bought thru third parties or direct with the airlines. Won't make any difference.

So if your friend helps you to buy the air ticket, your friend has to be responsible for helping you if there's any delays and cock ups?

I'm a long time trip.com user and thus far I've not encountered any issues due to the site. When I was in New York and the return flight was changed 3hrs before departure, trip.com tried all communication methods I've listed to get in touch with me. Of course the actual flight rearrangement must be done by the airlines, but at least trip.com tried to keep me informed.

For things like seat selections, it's like regular ticket purchase. Use Eticket number on airline website and select.

ctrip is the china version sg is trip.com.sg. although trip.com i believe originates from china.

That time i book scoot flight with trip.com, if i remember correctly, scoot got email me the itinerary also. Or at least i can manage the flight on scoot without going thru trip.com.

Yah, once the airline issues the booking #, one can safely deal with the airline directly. Dun need trip.com already.

The only worry of booking via an agency is whether they will issue the ticket booking # or not.
