Hey guys,

Need some help troubleshooting my PC.

Problem
- Unable to boot up
- PSU light is on
- Pressing power-on button shows no reaction

I'm able to successfully boot up after performing the following for numerous time (I'm posting this from the PC)
- Unplug and plug power cord
- Resit cmos battery
- Spamming power-on button

Anyone can help to pin-point if this would be a PSU or MOBO issue?

Thanks!

TS, get a spare PSU to test, especially if cpu fan/casing fan failed to start upon pressing the power button.

accidentally shutdown the system yesterday night.
today when i got home, the system was on, but bios was wiped and was stuck at post to choose where to setup or continue.

Feels alot more like PSU issue to me now

Don't think is the PSU.

Your CMOS battery is dead causing the CMOS to be corrupted.

Replace the CMOS battery, clear and reset the CMOS and it should resolve the problem.

CMOS battery was replaced before the weird autobootup issue.

I'm thinking even if the CMOS is dead.
The system should still powerup. (fans etc). But none of them worked.

Trying to get another PSU to test it out.
Any chances its a mobo issue?

Its the PSU issue. happen to some model of seasonic psu I used before.

not a big issue you can still power on the computer by

1. Pressing the power button and the PSU button(the one at the back of the psu) simultaneously

once power on the computer will work as per normal until shutdown.

I have RMA 3 PSU until the 4th one stop giving me this issue like the previous ones (after 3-6month it will happen with the PSU) . Currently one is still good after 1 year so could be batch issue.

Didnt try doing them simultaneously.
But i just keep toggling the PSU switch and try to poweron the system.
After some time it will work. and the system will run just fine.
Guess I'll need another PSU, anyway the current one has been with me for at least 5 years i guess.. :s13::s13:
