Hi all,
ran into some issues with my onboard audio recently. was using it as per normal one day when suddenly there was a loud bang and the volume of the music coming out of my speakers connected to the mobo increased dramatically.

Tried plugging in headphones from the front I/O panel and it resulted in fuzzy and distorted sounds coming from both the headphones and speakers. Disconnected the HD audio cable from the mobo, waited a few days to plug it back in. As of now the front panel audio I/O is not working. Contacted Corsair for rma, said that they will ship a replacement.

Music coming from the speakers currently sounds muffled and has to play at about 70% volume half the time, and will sometimes make a pop sound and go back to normal where its playing acceptable sound levels at 30%. whats the issue?

Sorry for the WOT, thanks.

Forget about troubleshooting. Just make a trip down to Corbell to RMA motherboard.

the trouble now is i gotta take apart my rig.. hahaha. or can i just bring the whole thing down?
Practice taking apart the rig ba. That's the whole point of DIY rig. The rig was yours to customise, so now when one component falls sick u needa take care of it. :D

Alternatively u can bring the entire rig down to the shop that u built the rig from, ask them to dismantle for u, then u send for warranty via them. But this route may take longer than needed coz the retailer now acts as middleman.

bo bian, either way TS will end up with no mobo. He can ask Corbell to loan him one while his mobo goes back to Taiwan for RMA.

Asking him to buy a used soundcard = waste his money. Coz he didnt even diagnose his mobo. Wad if the PCIe lanes also affected? Soundcard mount where? Become white elephant liao lor...
