So i m wondering which type should I purchase now given the advancement of

vs
traditional PC headsets

Any 1 using those fancy Sony XM4 /BOSE QC35 etc as a headset replacement??

Don't buy Bluetooth Headset atm.
Wait for Bluetooth 5.2 LC3 Codec first.

imho want to buy headset must consider repairable or not.
must have
1) replaceable earcups
2) detachable mic
3) detachable cable

nowadays also easy to DIY bluetooth with Aptx LL

1) Aptx LL Bluetooth Transmitter

2) Aptx LL Bluetooth Receiver

Bose QC35 is nice as a wireless headphone, rubbish for calls. Mic is not noise-cancelling and picks up entire room and nearby conversations.

For work calls at home, I have the Poly Voyager Focus. Wireless, convenient charging cradle (if you get a set with one), and okay-ish sounding mic with good noise cancelling
