Hello guys, recently one of my Razer Lycosa keyboard leg stands broke and I emailed them to see if I could buy/get a replacement for the legs but it failed. So now I'm looking for a replacement keyboard as I don't like my keyboard to be flat on the table.

So, I see most mechanical keyboard in the $150++ range and mostly are TKL. I saw this mechanical keyboard from amazon at USD$109.99 by corsair with cherry mx red/brown switches and I'm thinking of buying it. But I still want to try the keys before actually buying them.

Is there any place in SG that I can try this specific keyboard?

If u specifically wanna try out corsairs Mech keyboards, then your out of luck, they dont have a sample in the entire sim lim. Can try out other brands keys before you make your decision

That's cheap. Think I paid about $200 for the Razer BlackWidow Ultimate Stealth which uses the same Cherry MX Brown.

hello,

if you are new to mechanical keyboards; you should know there are 3 common colors to them.

brown - considered to be all rounded, not very noisy, there's a tactile feedback(you can feed the bump when it is pressed/activated).

blue - mainly for typist. considered noisy with its clicky sound. the most satisfying keypresses ever.

red/black - red and black do not have any tactile/clicky feedback at all. instead it just bottoms out. its just like a linear presses. It is suppose to be for gaming purposes where it travels the least compared to the rest to activate it.

note: usually I would go for browns to be safe but its up to you which key feels good to you. Doesn't mean buying blue, you can't play games with it. I have friends who uses blue and says its really good for games since they can feel the feedback compared to the red/black.

Go sim lim and try it yourself to feel which one suit you the most.

When you are trying keyboards at simlim. Dont just go there press press abit. Try your best to write a simple paragraph with each keys and see how you like each switch as using any keys for an extended period of time will be totally different. You can buy MX greens thinking they feel alright then right after you go home and start typing/gaming you will regret because it's too uncomfortable to type on.

Also, dont have the mind set of "red/black for gamers". Just go with whatever feels the best.

IF you really cannot decide, the safest is to go with browns if you like the tactile feeling or reds if you dont.
