Dear all,

I'm visiting Tsukiji market next week before it closes down for good.
Have already been to Sushi Dai on my last trip.
Should I endure long Q this time for Daiwa sushi (as famous as sushi dai) or should I just go to any sushi restaurants and expect similar quality sushi?

Isn't it moving to another location?

sushi dai should be better. don't think you need to regret not going daiwa lol.

i only went daiwa before cos that time i reached before 6am, sushi dai already had long queue of 20+ ppl. scary.

some posters on japan-guide forum have said that both are over rated. there are as good if not better and cheaper shops in the outer market.

relocation in spring 2016 apparently.

i have not tried either of them. heard the long queue is mostly Taiwanese and tourist coz the 2 shops were recommended in some Taiwanese travel show.
just go for any shops with mostly Japanese customers, or just choose one with lesser queue. I am sure the shops in tsukiji are all good

I'm going next week. Decided to walk around and pop by one that feels right instead of q-ing at Sushi Dai or Sushi Daiwa. I don't think the difference will be THAT big.

Hi I'm gg to Tsukiji too but need some help. How does the restaurant work there? I'm inly exposed to conveyer belt sushi so I have noooo idea how it's gonna be like. Do I point and order or what? Is it a set? I'm not looking for big name restaurants just any sushi place with lesser people haha

Sushi Dai & Daiwa are excellent and nice if one can have the luxury of time to enjoy (i did when i was there a few years back) it's so crowded now i see the Q i lost my appetite.

had a very nice breakfast at the outer tsukiji instead, no way inferior and lots of choices too

- many of these outlets employ FT so language should not be a barrier, plus picture menus are always useful
