Any reason why nowadays Sushi dai Q is so crazy? Did they appear in some guidebooks or something?

i guess i lucked out having enjoyed Dai for some time without having to endure the crazy Q.

I remember back in 2009, reached there at around 530am, went straight in. Every year after that Q just gets longer and longer each time. Longest i had to Q was at most 1 hr. Until the last i went 2 years back, Q 4 hrs... that was it... Took away all the fun.

Now i go to the Katsu and to the outer market. :)

Japan in general getting more and more tourist arrivals I guess. Also helped a bit by the upcoming (well, now it's indefinitely postponed) shifting of the market. Another reason is that there's a lot more tourists eating nowadays. Japanese ppl sit, eat, leave; tourists take twice as long cos need to slow slow take photo, take selfie, etc etc 😬

Compare to normal is quite exp. some find it worth due to fresh but I try it. Quite good taste and melt in your mouth. LOL. Worth it ? Not me but try as don't not want to regret it later.

Tsukiji market is fun with street stall food - tamago, sushi, BBQ assortment of seafoods and many stalls of dry foods (as gifts or buy back). Just go there in morning, enjoy the crowd and food - I dun see the need to go and see the auction - I heard some auctioneers dun like unknown ppl to be there and disturb the auctioning.

U know la - ppl auctioning, cannot get the price for the item they wont, sure face black black. See foreigner their face even more black.
If I don't intend to go for auction. ..is there anything to eat and see see look look at early 6am ?

Seriously, if u don't understand Japanese u wun understand what they doing during the auction...

Even if u do understand Japanese, u wun understand wat they shouting too....

It will be more exciting if u can watch those supplier cutting the huge tuna.....

That alone is at art..... They measure the weight of certain part of the tuna using finger....
