Turn off internal LCD while external display is still on

Doesn't work without the terminal code.
The following code should work.

Code:
sudo nvram boot-args="iog=0x0"

Shutdown.
Attach external monitor.
Turn on.
Keep your MacBook closed.
Once it boots into your Desktop.
Open up the MacBook lid.

If you're waking your Mac from sleep.
Close MacBook lid.
Wake MacBook using external keyboard.
Once fully booted open MacBook lid.

pardon my stupidity
u turn it on and immediately close the macbook? cuz if the macbook is closed out how to turn it on? LOL
