Hi guys need some help, my LED TV will turn to black screen for 3 secs and then resume back to normal everytime anyone operate the switches in my household. Is frustrating when you are in my room watching TV and other family members switching on/off lights outside.. I dont have this problem last time. Read online some people say UPS might or might not works. So asking you guys for more opinions . Thanks.

Additional info
My setup: PC -> 5.1 Surround Receiver -> TV
all connected through HDMI

Might wanna check with a electrician on how much loading are there on that single breaker from your MCB. I suspecting that it is might overload.

You may not have this problem last time, but the light switches can become less reliable with age and give you more switch bounce. Or maybe Lou added new fluorescent lamp or fan or other stuff.

Extra filtering usually gets the job done. Unfortunately there aren't many consumer solutions for that. You can DIY for cheap, or get a power conditioner.

Didn't really change anything. If I connect from pc directly to TV and it doesn't flicker. It means something wrong with my 5.1 setup somewhere?

Should not be the case.

Avr should not pull that much power at start or at least when there is no sound.

Most likely your house wirings might be very old. And may need to verify with a electrician.

I second his opinion. It's probably your house electrical switchboard that is overloaded

is the audio running off speakers connected to the surround receiver, or are you using the TV as the audio output? if it's off speakers connected to the surround receiver, when your TV goes blank, do the sound stop as well? if the answer to this is yes, then can possibly narrow down to the surround receiver, if it is no, then can possibly narrow down to HDMI cable from surround receiver to TV.

Sound still running when screen turns black. I initially suspected and tried changing cables. Still same.
Now i tried HDMI from PC to TV straight without going thru AVR. And the problem still persist. So Im quite sure narrow down to the graphic card HDMI port problem?

I think is not UPS, you can try surge protector for your LED monitor. If power keep on dropping, your any device plug to this socket will spoil real soon~

Have some electrician to check on your home wiring~

A glitch may cause just a pop in the audio but take the digital video a few seconds to initialize again.

To be precise, this is system-level interaction. A bad TV and good source can work, a bad source and good TV can work, a bad TV and bad source gives problem.

It is usually the TV's fault tho. How many times have computers BSOD because somebody turned on the lamp?
