I am thinking of upgrading my e8400 within this 2 months. Main purpose is for gaming. Most likely not getting Haswell due to some reviews on higher temperature, not much improvement, slightly higher cost.

Budget 1K. Only need to get CPU, motherboard, 8GB RAM, graphic card, casing. My current items on the list are:
1) Intel Ivy i5-3570
2) MSI B75A-G43 Gaming (black red theme)
3) Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600 8GB RAM (red)
4) MSI N760 Twin Force 2GB (black red)
5) Sharkoon T28 (black red)

I fell in love with the black red dragon theme from MSI and wanted to build around the black and red theme. I have limited knowledge on the computer components and especially casing. Any comments on the items I am getting? Eg another black red theme cost cheaper, better quality and more pleasing to the eye, etc

I googled to see how the G.Skill looks like.
Wow! It looks even better than Corsair Vengeance! Thanks!
Pity I can't post another image due to limited post count. -.-

Can still get all of this under pc themes wad. No needa change to g skill

distro and shop different... PCT is a shop where you buy your parts and assemble.. distro is the place to go when you want to RMA your faulty product. Shop will just ask you to go to distro to RMA.

Corsair is under Convergent whereas the rest of the parts are under Corbell. By getting the G.Skill, whole rig will be under Corbell. Convenience i guess..

The older Dominator/GT looked better than the plat..
Anyway, Would suggest you pair your system with a Seasonic PSU as well. Something like a G-550 if you are on a tight budget or a X650 KM3 if you can afford it for the black theme.
Get a Xigmatek Gaia also. The stock cooler also looks meh if you are going all out on a theme.

Thanks, everyone!
Now, it cannot be named "Twin Force Dragon with a Vengeance".
Maybe "Twin Dragons", "Double Dragon", "Ripping Dragon", "Dragon Jaws", etc.

It brings on a smile whenever I think of "Dragon Inside" (Intel Inside). =D

CPU + Mobo: i5 3570 + B75MA-G43 Gaming (black-red)
RAM: G.Skill Ripjaw Z 1600MHz 8GB kit (red)
GPU: MSI GTX760 2GB Gaming (black-red)
CPU cooler: <Antec 920> (customisable RGB LED logo)
SSD: <Intel/Samsung/Plextor> (doesn't matter)
HDD: <WD/Hitachi/Toshiba> (doesn't matter)
PSU: Seasonic X/P series (black-gold)
Casing: Sharkoon T28 red (black-red)

All except in <bracket> is warranty by Corbell. CPU won't spoil one. If anything ever go wrong with your system, just throw the whole desktop @ Corbell and let them diagnose for you :D

All you need to do is spam the kopi machine :s13:
