Thought JRL is still mrt lah, isn’t it? 3 cars instead of 6 cars, same as circle line MRT using 3 cars?
Oh. I had taken JRL to mean Jurong region line and hence only serves the jurong region. You still got to rely only on Jurong to go to the city or other regions.

Authorities studying if Jurong Lake District, Jurong Town Hall stations will be linked as interchange: S. Iswaran

SINGAPORE - The authorities are studying whether the Jurong Lake District station on the Cross Island MRT line (CRL) and the Jurong Town Hall station on the Jurong Region Line will be linked as an interchange, said Transport Minister S. Iswaran on Saturday.

Speaking to reporters at the official reopening of the upgraded Ayer Rajah Food Centre and Market in West Coast Drive, Mr Iswaran said: "The engineers and the Land Transport Authority (LTA) team are continuing to study this... we need to create meaningful interconnections in our MRT system for convenience and resilience."

In some instances, train lines may run parallel but they serve different commuter movement objectives, he added.

My gut feeling is there could be a West Coast Extension (above ground) station coming down from the Jurong Regional Line to the West Coast Vale much later ~ 2040. It could be exchanged with the West Coast MRT towards Pasir Panjang.

Walking from these condos to the bus stops is quite a distance. Worse if it’s raining as it’s not sheltered. Without the mrt station at West Coast, this is really inaccessible although partly mitigated by the shuttle bus.

I think most would rather still take shuttle bus to Jurong East MRT then to walk out, take a public bus, change to CRL, then change to east west line again at Clementi.

Anyway, it’s still more than 10 years away.

Still worth buying a 3 bedder dk unit at WG for own stay plus investment (renting studio) at today’s price (1800-1900psf)? Rental demand at this area should be decent? Any more room for price appreciation in the next 10 yrs or so?
