The typhoon has claimed one life in tokyo and another in hokkaido. For those who have plans to visit Japan in Sep, have you took any precautionary measures or cancelled/postponed your trip?

Very sian now cos my trip is next week.

Typhoon Lionrock just hit Japan today. This is the third one within a week after Typhoon Mindulle and Typhoon Kompasu.

Keep yourself updated with their weather alerts.

Seems all the news here are late. Typhoon 10 (Lionrock) already left Japan late last night and is now out in the Sea of Japan side. However, some northern parts of Tohoku and parts of Hokkaido will still be experiencing strong winds and rain today.

I thought it was hit this morning our time (like wee hours in the morning). Didn't see exact timing lol.

Typhoon is common around this time (Aug, Sept period).
Every year also got a few of those strong one that hit Japan. Some will even cause huge flooding in Tokyo.

That's the risk of going to Japan during their annual typhoon season. Better timing to go is Spring or Autumn where the weather is very mild (Not much rain), extremely slim chance of any typhoon.

there is currently wide spread flooding and mudslides in parts of hokkaido in areas like furano and biei, and in some areas in iwate prefecture. I think the news reported like 11 people have died in this typhoon 10. for those coming to japan next week, do try to avoid those areas.

Japan has been hit by 3 different typhoons with a week. Seems to be a very rare occurrence.

summer also have things like matsuri, outdoor music fests, beach parties, fireworks....

spring season also have some festivals here and there. I like spring, normally weather is good enough for T-shirt, berms and sandals/sneakers. Rain will be a thing here and there just make sure to check the daily weather forecast. JMA service is like the most amazin in the world at predicting weather.

My upcoming trip is Autumn, it will be more chilly but I will live with that for the koyo :s13:
