Wider turning radius, better grip, slightly more ex.is it ok to use 225/45/r17 tyres to repalce my existing 215/45r17 tyres? will there be any drawbacks in doing so?
Negligible, it's not going to be that much more. Overhyped deduction.use more fuel
Height profile same, no diff. Speedo is always off from default from factory. At least by 5-10km/h. Not important to worry about the speedo diff.wider and higher profile, your speedo will be off. use a car tyre comparison calculator to know the difference.
if you want same speedo reading, then it should be 225/40r17.
Speedo will be out. Speedo of the car is measured by how many times your tyre turns base on default tyre. Changing to 225/45/r17 will increase the tyre circumference, which will increase the actual speed vs what u see on speedo. A more acceptable limit is +-3% difference, which in this case should be 225/40/r17.is it ok to use 225/45/r17 tyres to repalce my existing 215/45r17 tyres? will there be any drawbacks in doing so?
Circumference didn't change, you're looking at 45 vs 45. You meant the width changed. 215 vs 225.Speedo will be out. Incase u are unsure what does 225/45/r17 means:
225(mm): width of tyre in mm.
45(%): profile of tyre, or how thick is the side wall. It is 45% of tyre width, in this case 45% of 225mm
R17(inch): size of your rim.
That little difference won't matter. I would opt for 225 over 215 for 17" reason is it looks nicer also, and bends out over the rim edges, makes it nicer looking as well. I'd love the extra grip of that 10mm on the roads. Fc, speedo all secondary.thanks all for your advice. reason why im not replacing the same spec its because the tyre im looking to get (goodyear efficeintgrip performance 2) doesnt offer 215/45r17. looks like i'll be getting 225/45r17 for it then.
Is the shop do not take in that profile? I rem the shop i went to earlier offered 215 for GY efficientgrip performance. But was a end 2020 production batch.thanks all for your advice. reason why im not replacing the same spec its because the tyre im looking to get (goodyear efficeintgrip performance 2) doesnt offer 215/45r17. looks like i'll be getting 225/45r17 for it then.

the first model does offer 215 but the newer model efficientgrip performance 2 doesn’t offer it at all. checked on goodyear’s website, next best size is 225Is the shop do not take in that profile? 101.25 vs 96.75 at 5mm, divided by 2 since it's round, it's at 2mm diff, it's not entirely a lot of difference compared to the width.Think u did not read the whole post. I had explained what 45 means
45% of 225mm is bigger than 45% of 215mm
5mm difference is the radius. Diameter is out by 10mm. Use a tyre calculator to calculate.101.25 vs 96.75 at 5mm, divided by 2 since it's round, it's at 2mm diff, it's not entirely a lot of difference compared to the width.
Nevermind, I got the illustration wrong in my head to start with.5mm difference is the radius. Diameter is out by 10mm. Use a tyre calculator to calculate.
What i am trying to point out is that u are saying all 45 are the same, which is not
I dont quite understand what u are saying by the way, or u do not have any understand of the topic at all?
225/45r17 is stock for maz3?Wider turning radius, better grip, slightly more ex.
No issues to do so. I was on 225/45/R17 for my Maz3.
No, original is 16".225/45r17 is stock for maz3?
