read that narrow tires for car is more fuel effecient and less likely to hydroplane, so is it safer? nowadays rain everyday.

Use better tyres... Simple... Depending on your packet.. I actually down size to 15 inch from stock 16 so that I can get better tyres at lower price.. Coz 15 inch, common size..

keep to recommended size ok la. if want thicker, then go thicker.

don't think too much about saving FC or aquaplaning etc because if you have to ask, likely it won't happen.

main thing is good tyres, most sizes also safe. lousy tyre, thick or thin also can wheel spin during upslope acceleration during rain. --> china tyre on 109 bhp 250nm van. yucks.

Safe or not, largely depends on the person controlling the steering wheels. Rain is seasonal but prolonged these days.. After normal days return, change tires again meh.

Thicker for better high speed stability.

Ideally is between 225 to 265 width :o

What do you look for? Grip, road feedback or Eco and low noise?
Reference to stock specs and see if currently meeting what you need.
