Doesn't matter as long as you are buying from a reputable shop. Check the tyre for a 4-digit code on the sidewall, it will look something like XXYY where XX is a number from 01 to 52 and YY is a number from 15-25 (hopefully). That tells you the tyre was made in (week number) of (year). Try to find a tyre no older than 1 year from your date of purchase, e.g. 4024-5224 (i.e. made in last 3 months of 2024) and 0125-4025 (made in 1st 10 months of 2025).

Anything older than 1 year, I wouldn't buy even if the mechanic said it's fine to use.

Hi all
I have a 2019 Mercedes Benz E class. Have been using the original stock tyres (run flat tyres) that came with the car since then.
One thing I really notice (and don't really like) about the original set of run flat tyres is how bumpy and noisy they are on the road.
Now that they are close to worn out and to be changed, I am thinking whether I should switch to another type of tyres.
Essentially, comfort and quiet are important to me.
Would anyone here has any good advice on what tyres to recommend pls?
Thanks in advance

I go JB once in a while so still stuck back to the stock RFT, but changed the tyres at workshops outside instead of C&C.

My current RFT kenna nailed within a week of change, the shop patched up foc.

Sometimes mold used is different, but if you drive within speed limits and no funny driving styles... any tyres will suffice.
