Uber in China

Anybody had recent experiences getting Uber in Beijing Capital Airport?

I'll be arriving just after midnight. The app asks me to head to the parking lot for pickup, wonder if it's easily walkable with a handcarry luggage? Wonder if the driver can pick me up at Departures.

Easy and convenient to get there, just that many people are also headed there for their pickup. There is not really a waiting bay, as cars have to keep moving. The driver has to ensure that you are there before he is able to drive the car to your location, otherwise he has to go round again.

Will take a look when I reach there. The last time I was picked up at the Departures, now it seems they can't come in anymore.

Alternatives will be a Taxi or Shuttle Bus Line 1 if I don't miss the last bus at 1am.

Can also try lines 4 and 5. Supposed to be in service till the last domestic flight arrival. So long as they bring you into Beijing city proper, should do the trick.

Hi, care to share your beijing trip experienced with us. Am visiting beijing also next week and will arrive beijing around 11pm. Are you using the same UBER apps in beijing similar to the one in Singapore? Do you think beijing uber is much better and cheaper than normal taxi?
I have downloaded the 滴滴apps on my iphone which is similar to the uber apps, unfortunately, it requested for a local numbers to setup. So, I don't think I can use the 滴滴apps during my visit then. Thanks.

The new China Uber App needs to be downloaded separately and you can't use the existing App from Google Play/Apple store.

It's unfortunately in Chinese language only and payment methods via Chinese alipay etc.. etc.. Foreign credit cards can't be used as well.

So we won't be able to use Uber in China till further notice.

After looking at recent news, it seems that Uber in China won't be reaching the same kind of prestige as Uber in Singapore or US. Better to stick to 滴滴.

Uber China has been sold to Didi Chuxing. Didi chuxing is a big player in PRC and is like the uber of china.

If you're at the hotel, ask them to book taxi for you thru Didi. Some hotels quite hard to take taxi. Then some taxi being ** only take to airport.
